Hi everyone, happy Monday to you.

I have something a little embarrassing to share today.  I am generally really geeky  when it comes to talking on the phone. When I first met my husband, I refused to talk to him over the phone. In person it was fine, but I felt so awkward to speak through the magic of telephone wire. I didn’t really know him then, so it was hard to come up with things to talk about when I couldn’t play off his body language.  Well that was five years ago and I am still really geeky about talking on the phone with people I don’t know. Is it just me? Or are there others like me out there?

So over the weekend, I got a call from a perspective client for our wedding film company. Obviously I was extremely happy about that. It’s been the off season for weddings, so work there has been really slow, and making wedding films is the most satisfying job for me, next to blogging of course! So, after telling my husband the awesome news, he said “I’m working, you have to call her back.” Of course, it being me, I immediately got all kinds of nervous. It took me like two hours to get the courage to call her back. I know, it sounds awful! The worst part of it is when I hear the phone ring on the other side, and my mind is racing saying, “if you hang up now you won’t have to go through with it”. HA!

I need to improve, our business kind of depends on direct contact with clients. I guess practice makes perfect!

I hate talking on the phone! Stresses me out! A weird phobia. I’m trying to get better but I love texting. I think it’s because I don’t like small talk. I just want to get to the point! So I totally understand. :-)
